Should I be this unhappy.. ):
« on: December 22, 2007, 10:45:26 PM »
I shouldn't be because:

1. I got an RG from a pawn shop for cheapo money.
2. I found out I am getting computer parts for Christmas.
3. I recently got BKPs

I should be because:

1. My BKPs aren't working properly after a whole day of working on them
2. Relationship problems
3. It might be cool to get stuff, but in the end it's not what happiness is all about
4. I have the cold

And last but not least. It's my 18th birthday tomorrow and I just feel like staying in bed and not seeing/talking to anyone. *sigh*
That's my depressing post over.

Hey, if you explain your issues we might be able to help. Don't if you don't wish to.

We all get issues that cause distress concern or whatever.I have had quite a few trauma in my life-like everyone else but I have learned to look ahead and think"well in a years time, this will just be an unpleasant memory". I wouldn't say time is a healer but it does let you put things in perspective. When something bad happens my Brother and I often say "well, no-one died". We have been known to say this at funerals.

I find Christmas to be a weird time, as everyone is expected to be happy.
If you take out that expectation, just be yourself and be how you want to feel, things usually get better in a few days I feel.

Most suicides are recorded over xmas and new year - it's the top time of year for depression apparently (I know, that's not helping)

There's nothing that serious appart from the relationship problem - it's certainly a shite time for it.  I remember getting dumped over xmas when I was 19, didn't feel very festive at the time.

I'd say to focus on the positives - family, friends, your new bargain guitar and BKPs.  I'm sure we can all help you with wiring the BKPs.

Well i think you should be happy because some of those problems can be easily solved. Worst case scenario for the bkps is you have to take it to a shpo and get them to do it which is no big deal. Relationships always have rough periods but they work themselves out in the end (unless its always like that, in that case get out of it because it makes you unhappy!). Get some Lemsip for the cold and will go away soon enough haha.

Just sit back and relax over the xmas period and you will be fine!

Looks like your typical 18 year old X-mas blues.

Cheer up, you're 18! You got BKP's (it just takes a bit of patience to get 'em to work).

Don't worry chief; until you're in your mid-20's, you will get depressed at the drop of a hat for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

We've all been there, haven't we lads? Yea!

But once all that youngun cr@p is left behind, life becomes sweeter, like a guitar getting a set of BKP's for the first time (love the metaphor eh?).

So don't fret (pardon the pun! somebody stop me!) and cheer up cuz when the woman (man? ) you're meant to be with won't give you problems... And the pups will get sorted, just talk with Tim about them.

And finally, your cold will pass. It's not even a fever or flu.

So chin up!

Cuz look at me. i'm working tomorrow until midnight... and on the 31 Dec I am working from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m... woopee?

god damn! this is the best advice!

your 18, you've got another 20 years before you'll be worrying about settling down.

rock out with your guitar, start a band, drink some booze, smoke some cigarettes, chat up some young ladies

+1 on looking on the bright side.

Problems with relationships - you're 18 - it'll pass
Problems with pickup wiring - it'll pass - even if you have to get it looked at

Problems with a cold - it'll pass - lemsip etc !

You have a cool guitar - yay!
Apart from a cold you have good health - yay !
You're still only 18 and have lots of time to have fun - yay!

Watch half an hour of telly where they show people less well off than you and give thanks for your relative good fortune.......tends to work a treat.

Ignore the stupid Xmas expectations put out via the media and enjoy the good stuff.

Do something to help someone else who will appreciate it - that will give you a surprisingly good boost!
