Just received my Abraxas bridge humbucker.

Im going to pair it with an Emerald neck HB and see how I go.

I'll let you know the results.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.  I think they will work well together, because the V and IV combo gives a great sound.  My Emerald is paired with an Alnico V Mule, and it works well.

Tim Reversed the magnet in the Emerald to get close to the Peter Green tone,so the extra combination of the IV and V should give interesting results.

I'll get an Abraxas neck pickup at a later date. The bridge I ordered has the raw nickle which looks amazing.

You're a man with many BKPs, Phil. Whats your best loved Humbucker. Or do you float in and out depending on your mood.

Hi Chris,

At the moment I am playing the Abraxas, Riff-Raff/Stormy Monday and VHII sets most.  But some of this is the guitars they are on too.  I am still waiting for a lot of things to arrive from when I moved back here.  Once they do, I will be playing the Crawler/2xP-91 PRS a lot I think.

I am not doing too much with single coils because I am getting a lot of RFI interference.  I have an Apache set due soon, also my first Warpig!  I have a set with a raw nickel warpig bridge and mississippi queen neck.  I am looking forward to hearing that set too.

I like the P-90 sound and I have a Pig-90 coming too.  Junoirs are really great dirty lead guitars (and you can play them for hours because they weigh nothing!).  I am going to ask Tim to rewind a junior pickup to the mississippi queen bridge sound (he doesn't know it yet!).

A lot is the mood, and what I feel like playing.  If I was playing in a band I would probably take the VHII PRS, because it has a lot of sounds with the 5 way switch.  Mind you, if it was a blues night the Abraxas would win hands down.  I guess I have too many choices (I am not good at decisions   :)  this is why I have so many guitars!).

My Abraxas is being fitted tonight. I'm glad you make reference to the Blues for the Abraxas as this is what I love to Play.

I would like P90s,or Humbucker size P90s,but I dont have enough guitars.

I'm looking to get one of my stats BKPd but unsure which to go for. The slowhands sound good and I have a rosewood and maple necked versions if this becomes of importance.

I'll get an Abraxas/ Emerald demo as soon as possible. We have baby No 2 on the way so playing guitar is hard for me at the moment, although I still get as much in as I can.

Chris, Apaches are wonderful- one of your Strats should have them perhaps the rosewood 'board and then maybe Slowhands for the maple. I've no experience of Slowhands I must admit but if I didn't have Apache's then I'd have probably gone for them and maybe I will for my 2nd Strat as soon as I have the spare cash  Perhaps you'd better get the playing in now before your  no 2 sprog appears if my experience is anything to go by  :lol: I am looking forward to hearing your Abraxas/Emerald demo. I enjoyed Phils too for that matter.

My favourite strat is the maple board, so perhaps the slowhands are the ones to go for. It's an 88 graffiti yellow. Not the best colour in the world but it fits like an old glove.

I've asked my wife for a comboined bithday Christmas present for the strat pups. I might chance it and push for a mint green scratch plate.

I'm looking forward to srtat pups as 'Ive only had humbuckers from BK so far, which have all been outstanding. I've got too many big ideas and not enough cash to back it up.

Hi Guys,

Being a big Rory Gallagher fan, I went for Irish Tours.  I have a Slowhand that I got for one of my strange guitars (it has Mississippi Queen, Slowhand and Mini Mule from bridge to neck), but haven't fit it yet because the guitar still hasn't arrived from England.  I am also waiting for a set of Apache's.  I think that the IT's would be the ones for the rosewood board.

I tried the Apache's at LGS and liked the sound on a maple neck Strat (that is what I am putting them on).  I'm not sure how the Slowhand compares at this point.  I keep thinking perhaps I will fit it to the Strat before the Apache's arrive so I can hear it!

This time I am getting the whole scratchplate and everthing from Bare Knuckles (they are aging the plastic parts for me too).  The mint green looks good with all the matching plastic.  I am not as sure about the Parchment White.  Graffitti Yellow sounds cool, I have a shell pink with the IT's  :roll:

I'm lucky (or unlucky depending where you stand), in not having kids, so I can play a bit more.  My problem is neighbours, because all the houses here are like terrace houses, so sound travels through into the next house.

Kids aren't so bad. I plan to get a gold top to celebrate the birth. That way I get another guitar and the kids get a Les Paul each when I go to the big gig in the sky.
Oh, and a stat each. They can fight over the yellow one.

Hi PhilKing,

You got to let me know how the warpig bridge and mississippi queen neck sound together when you get them.  I will probably have my money saved by then to order mine for my Gibson sg....lol
