Nailbomb + Blackstar HT Dual on higher gain setting.
« on: January 02, 2008, 01:46:06 PM »
Was listening to the clips that I've put on here, and they all seem a little bluesy...

Decided to play with some higher gain settings on my Blackstar, rolled off the middle and upped the bass, that sorta thing.  I think that it's an amazing pedal, very versatile.

Please excuse the ATTROCIOUS midi drums - not sure what happened to my timing there...

Mark.

Just made some adjustment to the drum part, and re-recorded the rhythm track, this time I didn't mic the Orange, I used the direct out feature on the Blackstar, cos my kids are in bed asleep...

Yea, the drums murdered my sensibilities!  :P

But the guitars sound pretty good... especially that solo bit. The rhthym guitars sound a bit like they're being played through an old radio speaker

And hey, if you want like.. a nice backing drum track.. gimme a tempo and I'll upload one for you so you don't have to do those midi things...

Gibson LP Studio (MM bridge, CS neck)

Oh, my...

I've just listened back to that - DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS RECORDING!!!

I think that I've worked out what went wrong with the drums (this is one for all those DAW jockies out there).

Checked the settings in Cakewalk, and it looks like I set the input quantize for the drums to 32 beat triplets!, but know on the kick drum!  Don't know what I was thinking...  I think that I was deafened by the extremely loud guitar parts...

Gonna re-record the drums and repost.

Mark.

Safe to listen now...

OK, I've fixed the drums, and re-recorded the rhythm part, direct rather than through the amp and miked.
