Cold Sweat / Warpig (Metal) - 1st Ever Recording
« on: January 04, 2008, 12:34:46 PM »
For my 1st ever recording, I just did

Record,
Play,
Wap in other tracks (Midi)
And put my guitar over it

So I'm either too fast or too slow compared to the song, lol, I'm gonna try having the actual song as the backing track. Since this isn't really a good song without his singing.

It's Metal.. or Death Metal.. Or Melodic Death Metal.. Or Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Melodic Death Metal..

Whatever it is labelled as, I just say Metal.

Anyways, here it is. I played it directly into the Boss BR600 (After a power cut, a bad day, and getting my guitar back) I finally figured out how to use. Yeah! Plus, I'm not a gain monster, it's just the effect, lol..

My Opinion: It's sh-t.

http://www.box.net/shared/ee0s63i80c - Plus it's a hellish fast song (if you didn't notice)

i think the song may be a little bit too fast for you.  slow the drum track down 10 BPM and see how that does for you, if it is still too fast go in 5 BPM increments.  It appears that you were doubling up guitars and when attempting to play in unison there was lag between the two which hurt the actual comprehensibility of the track at times.  If you played it slower you would play it much more cleanly and it would be more intelligible.  Keep at it.

Yeah he was going up to 5 million and I felt like he was pushing it. But if at any point you feel it's too difficult, just... quit. Sell your guitar on ebay, cause you're shite.

(kudos to those who get that reference. I imagine quite a few of you would)

Kidding of course. The playing was good, if it had been in time with the track.  :P

oppro: 10 BPM?  :? That's a typo right? If not, this would be doooooooooooooooooooooommm metal.

^I think he meant slow down the track BY 10BPM not TO 10BPM.

Anyway, decent clip. It can be a bitch to get to grips with units like the Boss at first. Just try and improve a little for every recording and you'll get there.

Good call with that reference man, i love those vids.  And yeah, just to slow the track down by 10 BPM.  If it was actually playing at 10 BPM top speed that would be slower than Sunn O)))

A bit of all shall perish, huh?

Really good effort, but as has bee said, work on the accuracy of your timing. Its pretty well on for the most part, but layering going out of sinc, some missed notes and just-a-bit-too-long pauses between some changes do down whats otherwise an admirable job of a difficult song

I'll probably slow it down to a rate where people can know the song than hear mistakes. :P

But yeah, for another time.
