new pups for my epi
« on: January 04, 2008, 11:09:21 PM »
Hi everyone

My Epiphone Black Beauty needs new bridge and neck pickups, and so far BKPs seem a good option :)

My favourite sounds come in equal parts from players such as Billy Gibbons, Slash, and Joe perry, as well the smashing pumpkins and some metallica. So far, I like the sound of the crawler in the bridge and the stormy monday in the neck, and will probably end up getting them, but are there any others which you'd recommend I listen to first?

Thanks

Pete

The first 3 mentioned are Mules all the way. Metallica's tone is quite the odd one out. Truth is, you CAN play Metallica with lower output pickups and it'll sound awesome, but it wont be Metallica's tone. With any BKP though, it'll be much better

Others include thin lizzy, and I've heard a  (very) short clip of Doug Aldrich (I think thats how its spelt) which sounded good
