Hey guys!

I routed the body of my jackson dk2 in order to put a neck humbucker instead of single coil (put a NAILBOMB)

so... I have:

Neck: nailbomb alnico 5
midle : some generic single coil
Bridge : warpig ceramic 8

I got a 5-way switch.... and I thought about something that could be cool.

1- neck humbucker
2. mid single coil
3. both BKP humbucker (neck and bridge)
4. KILL
5. bridge hum

Could this be possible ? tone will be a 500k, but I have no clue how to wire the whole thingy. I don't plan to use the single coil much nor the kill switch, but it might be a 'lil cool.

I made a little paint drawing of everything

The short answer to this I'm afraid is no. If you have a standard 5 way positions 2 and 4 are just 'in betweenies' that give you 1+3 or 3+5 (old fenders had 3 way switches people would jam in between to get that sound).

You could use a push pull pot to turn on the bridge or neck pickup whatever position the switch is in to give you the 2 together.

Not sure about having a kill setting...I'd be sh*t scared I would accidently turn it off ;)  unless you want an actual ray gun setting...that might be cool :)

how about a normal 5-way fender switch then add push/pull pots to the volume and tone - one as a neck adder to give you the neck/bridge and all 3 pickups together, and one as a kill switch

I got another question...

I found out this site, http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/switch/index.html
where it explains that 5 way switch...

now, If i take that diagram down there (its the 8 pins)

common b - neck b - middle b-  bridge b
neck a - middle a - bridge a- common a

and just wire like that, but middle would be both neck and bridge... would it work like a 3-way switch?? ie. neck-neck-both-bridge-bridge, or something like this?

Thanks agaan !!

Hi Fella - hmm, there are only 3 actual lugs you can use, the 4th is the common always on terminal. Now if I understand you correctly you could wire the neck and middle pickups to the middle lug which would give you both of them in parallel..but you wont have the middle pickup.

If I were you I would actually hard wire it to give you both neck and middle and then see if you like it...you may not and that will save some trouble :) I would still use a push pull pot to turn on the bridge if you decide you do...
