pickup for soloing in the bridge ?
« on: January 11, 2008, 06:53:31 AM »
Hey all
i'm replacing my d-sonic in my petrucci, can't stand that pickup anymore, lousy response and it gets muddy real quick.

i need something for soloing mainly and that can give alot of pinch harmonics , which is something i incorporated into my style long ago, the d-sonic can't pull it off that well.

A pickup with alot of mids is what i'm after and an awesome bass response,  good treble is required also for clarity.

which fits my bill do you reckon ?

a warpig ?

I really dont think the warpig will do what your looking for, ill advice you to listen to alot of clips, for cutting lead bridge tone check out the rebell yells, if not metal enough, i heard some very nice shredding on the nailbomb bridge.
Mules in '76 Gibson custom with maple neck.

I was going to recommend the Rebel Yell or Nailbomb too.  Both have awesome harmonics.
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.
