But the guy in the end should indicate that it's a joke. At least I hope so. Not for the unholy guitar abuse, but for the sheer gayness.
If for real, it says "I'm here, I'm queer, and I shred". If it's a joke, it says "people who shred like this are queers". Either way, I don't know what I just saw. :?

The guy at the end is his twin brother, if you read the text at the side (the fact that they look alike might have been a clue too).  They're just mucking about.  No gayness or queers involved.

:D I think the guy on the 1st vid is actually doing it for real. That's OK to a point. I think if you admit that your just showing off to show the extreme edge of guitar playing BUT make the point that it starts to get unmusical then people will accept it as a pointer to whats possible.

I think this is why certain shred players are successful & others are not. Vai, Satch being the 2 obvious choices. Vai push`s musical barriers [ not always successfully ] to try & express himself, Satch prefers the heads down rock song with some great guitar bits so we can all play "air guitar" along with it. I think this is why Ynwie Malmsteen has been very hit & miss. Obviously a great player just not particularly musical with it. Hence the fact we all now the guy but very few of us actually have any of his music.

You have to try to strike a balance at least imho........

I bought one of his Cd's in the 80's, the one called Odyssey to see what all the fuss was about. We didn't have the benefit of internet downloads back then so buying music could be a hit and miss affair! Anyway the instrumental 'Bite The Bullet', which is around 1:30 long is pretty impressive imho. What got me about it was this incredible bend he does in-between the widdle.

I've got the Alcatrazz stuff and the first four Rising Force albums.  Odyssey was a good one, because Yngwie respected Joe Lynn Turner enough to actually let him have some songwriting input.

Haven't heard much of the later stuff - maybe it's amazing, for all I know.
