Haven't seen the DVD, but since Mustaine is a big endorsee for Seymour Duncan, I don't think they are BKs. Probably an Invader or similar.

He was probably using his Signature Active Seymour Duncan pickups (unless they weren't out then) because they look a bit different to the normal SD's.

It looks like some of the later ESP DV8s had Duncan pickups with solid black covers:

they are the duncan sig pickups talked about above. they are dark chrome.. can look a bit black sometimes.

the gigantour megadeth vid from 2005.. from youtube cant tell what it is, too bad quailty, i cant be bothered to crack out my gigantour dvd... but it was before the duncan sig pickups came out, maybe dave was trying out a lot of pickups to get his sound... but i think at that point they were prototype actives... i cant quite remember back to then too accurately.

Well, now that Chris Broderick joined Megadeth (!!!! :D  :o  :)   *happy dance*) Mustaine with BKPs might not be too far off.

I didn't know that (although I see it's only just happened)!  I'm not familiar with Broderick's previous stuff really, but it'll be interesting to see what happens next...

Broderick might have the best chops I've ever encountered from a metal guitarist, and great phrasing. So yeah it'll be interesting.

Or check jagpanzer.com, Mark wrote:

"Hello everyone -

First of all - A HUGE congratulations to Chris Broderick for his new gig with Megadeth. Chris is a worldclass talent and the hardest worker I've ever met. He's like a brother to me and I'm excited for him to get this opportunity. Myself, and everyone else in the band, not only support Chris's decision, we're excited for him."
