Well the JTM45/100 should be pretty beefy indeed 8)

Just thought the resonant big and punchy sounding TV cabs would make a good match, as for beefy, you could also consider the normal sized but deeper "Bass" cab model marshall made in the 60's and 70's, will give you a deeper and richer low end IMO, at least it does on mine.

And i hope your just joking with the "too Marshally" right? :?

Marshall is to rock what god is to mankind....

I like the Marshall sound, but I want something a bit different.  Hence the non-Marshall cab, and the fact that the amp is the uncommon JTM45/100  ;)

The TV is a nightmare to move around, I should have a similar tonewith the Orange/Matamp one - thick, fat and chunky  :D

I know, just generating options to ponder about.....

You can actually improve a cabs bass resonance by adding a beam to connect the front panel (where the speakers are) with the back panel, my "Bass" cab has this too.

Are you planning for the G12H/V30 combo again?

Yep, the speakers are being transferred from my Marshall 4x12.  Then I'll sell the empty cab.

I've (fingers crossed) got a guy coming tomorrow to buy the Ibanez RG I have for sale, then I can order the new cab  :)

Well the Ibanez RG sale fell through  :(  so I'm keeping it  :)

Thanks to Tom though, I've sold my Pearl Les Paul copy.  Cheers Tom - hope you like it  :drink:

The order has now been placed for my Martamp 4x12 cab, and the parts are "on the bench" for the M45/100.  I'm a happy boy this evening   :D

I may even have the cab in time for my next 'DC gig in mid Feb...

Jonny - I don't have a money tree either  :(  I've accumulated a lot of gear over the last few years, and I've sold a few bits to fund the amp.  I'm now deciding what I need to sell to pay for the cabinet.  A couple of guitars is what it looks like  :(

T'is what I'd do.

Quick update.  The "vision" is getting much closer to reality....

I'm heading off later today to pick up my new 4x12  :D  I've been told it looks just like the pic on page 1 of this thread.  Awesome.

I'll also be checking out the 45/100 which is well underway and should be finished in a couple of weeks or so.  Luvverly jubberly!

Hey twinfan, you better get some clips once that things done. I cant wait to see the finished product.

my dream amp. hmmm.

120 watt, 4x6550 powered, switch to attach pin 8 to pin 1 (for tubes that have parts attached to pin 1).
ultralinear/pentode switchable. Switch to disengage feedback loop to lower headroom when neccessary

3 inputs (ch norm, ch brite, ch linked)
1 output (just another jack attached to the linked ch wire) for daisy chaining

2 mullard 12ax7's for higher gain plexish preamp. True bypass switches above the channel volume knobs to increase gain on the channels by switching in higher plate resistors. Maybe push/pull knobs if i can find them in DPDT.

2 fx loops: series and parrallel, each tube driven. cant decide whether to do 12au7's or to make one for jan5751's. True bypass, footswitchable (so series loop can act as tube buffered solo boost)

line out for slaving

1 sovtek 12ax7 lps for phase inverter.

7 knobs. (prebrite prenorm, treb mid bass, presence, master) push/pull knob to add resistor infront of master to convert it into 2megK pot as master vol boost.
Another switch to completely take master vol out of circuit (earbleeder switch hehehe)

metal cage grille so you can see tubes glowing :D

Hardwood cabinet, cannot decide stain colour, perhaps walnut.

its basically going to be a shameless Sunn Model T copy with the above upgrades. I almost have the schematic ready, save the FX loops. Then i just have to buy the parts and start building :D:D:D
my maxon OD 808 really DOES make poop sound good

Nice pics Dave! :)  (Note to self: get better camera phone.)

Hope you enjoyed the drink last night, despite me moaning about ex band. Funny that they were on at the King's!

That 4x12 showed it's teeth even at low volume with the 18 watter through it. Can't wait to hear it cranked.  :o
