anyone have any ideas of a pickup that might be somewhere in the general area of CKY's tone?

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine an alnico Warpig or Nailbomb might get you close.

What is this 'harsh' of which you speak?

Havent heard a harsh BK yet

A5 is the way for them, though. But I think their sound is very processed, you arent going to nail it with just a pickup (but I think from what I've played the nailbomb is best, and what I've heard the holy diver is best)

Well my miracle man has a fuzzy sound that kind of overlays the overall sound, compared to my Epi's P/U's and my Schecters. Harsh was probably the wrong word because i love my Mircle Men sound. Aswell they are very tight and precise and cky stuff is abit more mushy.

Im not the most experienced but the the focused tight fuzzyness be  down to the ceramic magnet.

I would recommend the miracle man someone looking for more of a soilwork/in flames sound but not cky
