"Would you like some lemon oil?"

i don't have my SG to hand so i'll describe it:

hand built by martin kemp, with celtic rune in head stock
oiled mahogany
sweet sounding single piece body
dual p90s (kent armstrong 'hot' p90s - ahem, but sounding quite nice due to the body i think)
ebony fretboard
great 60s profile neck with big fat frets

the construction is a little bit unusual, and has some quirky features... its also a bit wobbly in places. i heard martin kemp was a bit of a mentalist, and since moved to thailand.

i changed the tuners and put a small hole through the head stock - man i was angry!

later i took the p90s out to see what they were (was thinking of some bkps maybe) - when i put them back i screwed too tight and put a hole through the body... i was even more angry!

with a bit of superglue, you can't really tell now though. i still wince when i think about that.

it sounds something in between 'live at leeds' and 'black sabbath'... basically its a very cool guitar. i like the quirkyness of it, the 'raw nature' of the oiled finish and my favourite pickups are p90s too - if i wasn't so flying V obsessed, theres a case for arguing this is my best guitar.

Here's mine...  :D

A 1976 Standard. Not a great picture - the actual colour /appearance is darker : - identical to Henk's S.G. ( with pickup covers ). The fretboard is rosewood,   not ebony. It's a lovely slinky creature though.  :D

It did have SM.s. in, but currently has the stock pickups back in as I may need to sell it.

Like I said, for a close up / more accurate idea - please see the picture above of Henk's S.G. laying across the top of his Blues Breaker combo.

P.S.  Has any body got an idea of a fair price to ask for such an S.G. should I have to sell ?  Any serious guidance appreciated.

Cheers !
