Plucked up the courage (Stromy Mondays Neck. VHII Bridge)
« on: January 25, 2008, 07:38:57 PM »
I Recorded this a few days ago, when i had some moments spare. the original was a never ending improvisation, this is about half of it lol.

Gear:
Godin Freeway Classic - V amp Pro

Sorry about my playing, it isn't that great on this track. The V amp doesn't do full justice to the p'ups eiter. Anyhow, most lead was on Stormy mondays Neck, with a few switches to the bridge. Rythm was done with a split between the stock single coil and the stormy monday. Hope somebody enjoys it

Great tone and soulful playing. I would much rather hear someone play for the song than just mindless noodle, that was tasty.Keep them coming.

very unique, great tone there, and the playing is top drawer, it's a sign of an accomplished player who can let those notes ring and blossom.

Thanks for the very kind comments guys. I should mention the Stormy Monday is Alnico II. Yeah I've noticed over time, after looking at some of the earlier recordings of my life I've developed into quite a different player to what i was before, like many people do i guess

Very big range of PAF tones with that set, very nice. How do you think the SM and VHII sound together?

Great tone and playing, thanks, very informative!

They sounds suprisingly good together. The stormy monday has that nice open smooth tone which i like to have from a neck pickup. When i flick to the vhII it gives me a bit more bite and tighness, but without losing the paf sound. The vhII is also usefull for some of the more metal parts that i will sometimes play
