Clip 1.

It seems to have a much cleaner - smooth - tone than clips 2+3.

Yeah it is smoother. That is the original track I used. 2 and 3  made tonight quickly

BTW what tape of amp do you play those Emralds through. Curious about them

I personally like clip 1 and 3, kind of depending on the music really. I like the somewhat bigger lead tone which sounds a bit more cranked a bit better, allthough #1 is a bit more transparent and could work better in ballads and such maybe. Well either sound very good actually.

Your right one work for the ballads better but for more raw edge others are good.

I am not surprised.... becuse on is the TSL which is more compressed voiced more lower. Others were JMP with OD. JMP sounds great but lead tone like plexis have a thinner tone.

Tomorrow I try try the 800. #1 was played on a LP also but a different one I sold.

They all sound sweet but I think I prefer the more edgy sound of clip 2, like the feedback too - nice and controlled.

You should change the topic to include the pickup name

It's that law ;)

The Emerald recordings were done by playing my LP directly into a Boss BR-900 digital recorder. All of the effects are supplied by the BR-900 onboard COSM software/hardware.

I'm saving my cash for an amp but need to juggle the desire for a valve tone with house volume.

Sorry the main to me was the amp, but the pickups are same. EMG in neck position. I love 85 in the neck

Ayyy, you shouldnt have said that yet....

So #1 is TSL, #2 is JMP + boost(?) and #3 is JMP + OD?

At least i like to know a bit more, i now have a JCM 2205, but id like to get a JMP also in the near future.

thanks I just did clips with 800 and I was happily surprised very nice in between tone. Especially with the Seymour Duncan Boost on at 10 o clock. Coming soon
