Dean Flying Vees?
« on: April 12, 2005, 10:49:06 PM »
Anyone got a Dean Flying Vee? - I'm looking to buy one, preferably a vintage one as the reissues look pretty shitee quality (appart from the USA-made ones, but at the price they want I might as well buy vintage).

Anyone?

I have one.  The '79 series are actually very nice guitars.

Yes, they are made in Korea and I was highly skeptical of the quality.  But I bought one and was amazed.  I actually prefered it to my friends new Gibson V.

hey Jag. thanks for the advice man.  There's nowhere round here that stocks those guitars so It'd be a special journey somewhere for me OR (what I really had in mind)... getting one from a dealer in the US via ebay as the £-$ price is pretty good at the minute.

If you're interested in buying from the U.S., contact Dave at Bass & Treble:

http://www.basstreble.com/

He's the leading Dean dealer in the U.S. and a very nice guy.  He has the best prices and he sells a lot of Deans to customers in Europe.

You can't go wrong dealing with Dave.

Cheers for that, I've been trying to find a good Dean dealer but came up with nothing on the vintage side of things.  I'll have a look at their website.

Actually, just had a look - not much in the way of Dean Vees to be honest.  Theres a black Dean Vee on gbase.com but it's been ruined with a Khaler trem (oh the shame)

Speaking of Deans. I found this one. It's for sale in Belgium for 1500.- Euros. That's about 3/4 of the normal price. It's a blueburst Z time capsule, number 12 of the 13 that were made. Includes case, strap and straplocks.

Here's the link to the guy's site. http:// http://www.barcoo.be

And here's the pic.
