;) ok with the mississippi queens!
i must say i have a couple of favourite sets of BKP vintage output humbuckers, and i think they would work well in an SG too, as well as my Vs. maybe this gives you some ideas:
Riff Raff Bridge + Stormy Monday Neck:
Since the Riff Raff is quite biting, and sounds totally 1970s, its quite nice to pair it with a stormy monday. the stormy monday and riff raff neck pickups are similar in many ways, but the riff raff neck can be a bit cold i think when clean. with this combination, you have two pickups which work together, but you get the possibility to jazz/mellow blues it up on the neck.
Mule A5 Bridge + Mule A4 Neck
This is a really great set, and I'm very happy with it. I love 1970s hard rock, and the riff raff certinally gives it to you in spades. but it can be a bit too much at times, and you sometimes want something a bit more neutral. the mule gives that, but with a5 magnets it has the extra bite too! keeping an a4 neck means you can still sound warm clean. i really like the in between tones, which have a really distinctive sound due to the difference in magnet types. overall, i think this gives you a very good palette of sounds, and i heartily recommend it.
of course it depends on what music you want todo, but i get the impression you want something a bit different from what you already have, and what to keep as many options open as possible - musically that is. if you wanted something over the top... painkillers? ;)
