I've heard about delayed processes...

But 8 years to increase the output?

Isn't that a bit... Insane?

I had it at home but sent it back to him about 8 years ago to get him to increase the output a bit.  Now that I am collecting my custom 5 string bass at last, I really would like the preamp.

Good lord... Plate tectonics is dynamic by comparison

Aye, world wars have been fought in less time.......

Nonetheless, an A++ for patience. I personally would have gotten my money back after a coulple of months frustration, not even thinking of standing that for 10 years!

Still, having someone custom build an amp for you does take a load of cash, way more then when having a guitar custom build. Only the design time and calculations take up more then enough time to build a guitar in.

Im happily settling for my Blackstar with my BB after this story though, and for that matter i can imagine how great that thing must be, a big congrats on getting that rig together!

The reason it took so long was that the whole Lexicon thing delayed it (which was OK because I got one of the first Lexicon's off the line).  Then John started a new job outside the music industry so that stopped it for a couple of years.  Then there was a total revision to the logic swtching and also he added the lights on each footswitch (originally it was the light on the controls only).  Then he wasn't happy with the clean tones so he went back to the drawing board.........

Since John is a personal friend it was never really a problem, and since I was really busy with work for a few years (I was living in London for almost 1.5 years) so I wasn't chasing it.

The bass preamp has developed an oscillation in the circuit somewhere since adding the additional gain stage.  Anyone who knows circuit design will know how long it can take to find something like that.  Since he is only doing this part time now, it is a really long job!
