monte allums ds-1 plus mod with inline chip adapter

i've never been happy with any modded ds-1 i tried. gave it one last shot by upgrading my regular monte allums ds-1 mod with his new chip adapter. it actually sounds quite good, i might use it as something else than a novelty pedal. give it a look i'd say. its in the same league as a crunchbox now, shame it has no true bypass.

They're cool pedals and can sound spot on with the right mods.  I have a DS-1 mod of my own that has got good feedback from people so far.  

The chip adaptor Monty has developed is a great idea as it's pretty tough to get SIL dual opamps - DIL are MUCH more common (as muck).

I already had the DS1 tri-gain mod - so I added the chip adaptor and a TL072CN (I find the Burr Brown too clean for distortion circuits) - very nice indeed - the chip adds volume and fills the pedal sound (which on a DS1 is essential as it has a thin, narrow distortion sound)

I also did Monte's Boss TR2 Tremolo mod - this really is recommended - the Burr Brown chip adapator and the component changes increases the clarity massively - adding the volume control means that the TR2 comes into its own.  I might add I already removed the C4 capacitor which is essential on old series TR2s.
