Nailbombs sound fantastic in SG's. Tim usually recommends going two ways when choosing pickups for SG's, either go low output like a mule or Stormy Monday, or go high like a Nailbomb or warpig etc.
As for the neck the Mule/Stormy neck would sit well, it has a DC of 7k, but we can drop it a bit to get 6.8.
It all depends on what you want tone wise.

Most SGs are mahogany MM and yes they sit really well in there if you're after a classic hot rock tone.
I personally prefer the more open tone and lower output of the Riff Raff or Stormy Monday in an SG..................our new Mississippi Queen humbucker size P90s also sound really good in them too.

Even consider the middle ground with an Emerald.

I put a pair in my Ibanez Iceman, which is a solid mahogany body as well (more like a cross between an SG and a Firebird V), and they sound pretty darn good to me.

I bought and installed a Nailbomb in my SG Standard last week and take my word for it...it's amazing!!

I play the SG directly into an Orange amp and the tone has increased by a mile!

I'll happily answer any questions from anyone about my BKP -> SG experience so far.
