The wood on the first Conklin is amazing. I want one of those, and I can't even play a 7 string!

Yeah is it. I saw one of those in Andertons a few weeks ago. I think i may have actually begun drooling - it looks even better in the wood.

Yep, Modern Eagle in Charcoal.  If I had £4500 to spend on a guitar (!!!!!) that's what I'd buy.
