New The Safety Fire song including guest solos
« on: February 25, 2008, 03:57:17 AM »
Hey guys,

This is the last song from our latest EP. The track is called Groove in A and features two guest solos. Pin from the band Sikth and Martin Goulding from the band Linear Sphere.

www.myspace.com/thesafetyfire

The solos in order are

Martin Goulding - 5:31-5:53
Myself (Derya Nagle) - 5:53 -6:04
Pin - 6:05-6:27

Our EP is also now available to buy as a download only EP from
http://www.trackseller.com/artistdisplay.php?id=1643

It is only £3 (4 Euros, $6 dollars roughly), so if you are digging please do buy the EP!! We can't sell it through a label as its only 3 tracks, but it is 20 minutes of music!

End of shameless self advertising.

Cheers!

AWESOME track! :D

Not even gunna bother asking how you got Pin to do a solo for you - Way too cool.

I recognise the name Martin Goulding for some reason, but I've never heard his band :s

I guess you recorded it?

Good stuff man.

It's not exactly my cup of tea but I can appreciate it's good-ness. :)

The section of DMB about "pupils so wide open" or something though, is just IMMENSE. Like I'm talking one of my favourite sections of any song ever...

This is great, way better than all the popular metal you see on tv and stuff. I may have to buy your EP at some point, what tracks does it have on it?

Hey cheers guys!

Sambo, I guess you like that part a lot!!

Tom, the tracks are Groove in A, DMB and Spoilage. Three quite different songs. It is 20 minutes for those 3 songs by the way!

Awesome stuff yet again mate! Love the clean vocals.

Fantastic solos all around, I'd heard Martin Gould's one on your soundclick a while ago, but I assumed it was you! He has an awesome vibrato.
Pin's is very typical Pin. It's very cool, do you know if he double tracked the harmonies, or if it was pitchshifted? I'd be very interested to hear what Dan would have played...
Very tidy speedpicking in your solo, loving the note choice. I assume it was the Blackmachine?

I'm trying to buy the EP but it says the album is in maintenance. I'll try again a bit later.

Hey cheers man,

The EP should be okay for download now, try it out, if not give me a mail and I shall sort it out!

Yeah Pin's solo was pitch shifter for the harmonies. Could imagine harmonising it would be a pain in the arse! Martin is on a different level, he is pure ridiculous, I wish I had his technique! Yeah for my solo I used my blackmachine into my Pod XT, was going to reamp but I felt the tone worked well having a different sound to the other two solos.

By some bizarre spackishness on my part, I've managed to pay for and download your EP twice... Anyway, it's awesome so I don't mind!

Might have a go at tabbing DMB, it's in drop-D right?

Once I get mine, we should definitely have a blackmachine jam!

Ordered.

It cost 4.53 Euro (approx. $10 USD). That's a bit steep in American dollars for a non-mechanical EP.

Downloading em now. Will report back once I've burned em to a CD an play em through my at-work rig (Cambridge Audio CD player, Creek 4330 amp, Acoustic Energy bookshelf spkrs, Nordost cables). Won't get to play em through my at-home rig until the weekend, though. D'oh!!

Thanks so much for buying a copy, TO, it is much appreciated. I didn't realise it would cost so much in dollars, and I didn't realise about that extra charge either! I will be emailing the supplier about that.

What is the exchange rate to the dollar at the moment? 4 Euros is £3 im pretty sure, so i thought it would of been around $6.

No worries, dude -- support the underground or you are a poseur b!tch!

Report ---

Wow, chuggariffic.

Track 3 is very 'Opeth'. I appreciate it, but didn't like it as much as the other 2, which I felt were more 'pure'.

Track 2 is my runaway favourite of the 3; played it a few times in a row to soak in all those time changes.

Edit ---

Besides the obvious love and work that went into the package as a whole, I thought I would point out that for an 'amateur' recording, how much I appreciate the fact that the vocals are IN KEY!!!!

Too many vocalists that that just because they are grunting, growling, or screaming, that they can follow whatever the hell key the wish. (Are you listening, Dani Filth?!!!!)

A small thing to most people, but to this pitch-monger, I really appreciated  the singer's ability.

Some ppl may think that what he's doing requires no actual technique, but they would be wrong.

Kudos! I give this EP a 4.5 out of 5.

This is pretty damn nice, guitars are brutal, love the vocals as TO said, so many vaguely talented cookie monster vocals going nowadays it's nice to have something where you can hear the lyrics and the singing talent.

I might just have to get this :D

I had no issues in iTunes or burned down to a CD.
