My Jem... HELP!
« on: February 26, 2008, 12:17:05 AM »
My Ibanez Jem is really feeding back and screeching when on high gain... I need to get this fixed but I don't know what is wrong... from what I have seen the wiring is correct. What could be causing this? theres quite a bit of old solder on the volume pot from changing pups... What things could be causing this feedback? pups are from 1990 (stock with the Jem)

While I'm no expert...  the only thing that comes to my mind is microphony... Are they wax potted?

No - they will be open coil Dimarzios
May be microphonic
Sometimes old pots can cause a similar problem
