No, but I've got one of those "Spirit by" Steinbergers with the R-Trem.  It's a bugger to set up, a bugger to tune and it feels absolutely awful as a tremolo.  I hope the TransTrem is a lot better (I'm sure it must be).

Fair enough, I'm not a trem fan at all so I don't think my opinion counts for much   .  I don't like Floyds either, FWIW.  The thing I hate about trems is that you get that kind of "spongy" felling as you depress the bar and the sustain drops off - it's almost like the guitar's dying...

The only trems I've liked are the original cam-based Kahler (lovely feel but still kills sustain), the long-gone Kahler fulcrum one and the PRS - which somehow doesn't seem to have a detrimental effect on the tone.

the long-gone Kahler fulcrum one

Thats where wammi J comes in handy, the man seems to be providing much needed tech support for Kahler users as well.

Personally i went for one of the cam hybrid models because it can be locked of easily - i dont always want a trem

I am also looking into the trem king system for a future build

This is the one I meant, still have it on my old Frankenstein Strat.  It's about as near as Kahler got to a traditional Fender tremolo:

True, if I ever get that guitar back in working order!  I have quite a few spares already, I spent a fair bit replacing the brass-roller saddles with steel-roller ones.  The parts that do wear out are the fulcrum points - they're just the edges of screw-heads which sit in a groove on the front of the bridge.

I'll be interested to see how the Trem King turns out, it looks a neat design.

Did anyone else not spot the dean acoustic at first, or is it just me?
