Ok, first off I know sod all about playing Metal stuff but I've been asked by several people to do a Metal clip ... so here goes.

Guitar is my Gibson Les Paul with Emeralds going into a Tonelab LE and recorded on  Boss BR-900CD.

If this is cr@p, let me know and I'll pull it.

Most anticipated clip EVAR!

What effects did you use?

"Oh, no thanks, I don't eat fruit."

Finally!! This is awsome, could you do the same thing w/o the effects (hope i'm not asking too much)?

Sounds nice and trebly!

It's funny, before Machinehead got his Emeralds I always heard them described as fat and kinda flabby sounding, but this has lots of bite. I don't like the processed sound, so I'm probably not gonna comment further on this, except to say that the "core-tone" is really good.

Emeralds rarely seem to get mentioned, but I've been GASing over a set for a while now - my Explorer is a picky mofo of a guitar and I haven't found a hot pickup that really works with it yet.

The settings on the Tonelab LE were pretty basic.

Amp model is a Marshall Plexi - gain set at 7. The distortion pedal model is the 'boutique' Klon Centaur - gain set at 5.

Apart from that there's no other effects apart from a touch of reverb.

The pickup used was the bridge.

I'll take a look at this a more modern amp model setting for another clip in this thread, shortly.
