Well, the sickness again. I need some Mira clips, especially bad sounding ones, to cure me from wanting one.

Any of the proud new owners able to make some clips showing off the praised versatility of this PRS model?

The guy who did the SC245 demo is a fantastic player. Nice to hear the riff from Lonely Train by Black Stone Cherry too (around 2:25) - it's given me a clue as to how to play it!

The sound is something else though, even on a Youtube vid. God knows how good it must sound in the room. Dakine, I can see now why you've been singing the praises of your 245 so loudly, those are some of the best tones I've heard.

I really shouldn't watch videos like that though. I've now got GAS for a Tremonti Sig, an SC250 and an SC245! Dammit. :(

I thought that about the tone too - loved it. In fact i loved it so much i plugged in my edwards LP to my Analogman SD1 into jcm800 and nailed it :D I'm gonna use this sound like ALL the time.

Chappers is fantastic, he's even a BKP fan ;)

I found him a while ago when checking out Vintage guitars and Orange amps. He's a rep for Orange, or something like that.

Couldn't agree more, I'd love to be able to play like that - he's got the perfect combination of styles. Although I think lessons may have served me better 10 years ago...

I can't do any clips, sorry. My recording skills are zero. The YouTube demo sounds like a fairly accurate representation of a Mira's basic tone to me - would you say so Phil?

I'm finding more and more that different guitars don't actually sound that different when I play them, unless I'm going from a Strat to a Les Paul or some other major difference. I find that I sound pretty much the same on an SG or a Les Paul or a Mira. Yes there are some subtle differences, but most of the time only I would pick up on them. Changing amps is far more of a drastic difference, as I'm sure you know ;) Tone is very much in the hands and is playing style dependent.

What I notice most with different guitars is how they feel, and therefore how they make me play. My Mira flatters the way I play, and I feel great playing it as everything seems to come so easily. It just suits my classic blues-rock style, plus the longer scale length really works for me as I grew up on Fenders.

Hunter - on a Mira you'll sound like you do on your Singlecut or your Epi LP. Whether you'll play any different? Well, you'll just have to try one and see ;)

Yeah, I just watched it again a couple of times and I think it's very accurate. You can really hear that warm, woody, resonant, all-mahogany tone.

And notice what a dramatic effect the coil-split has, and how good it sounds clean!

I beg to differ (and lord knows my hearing aint what it could be). I can plug my PRS SCT in (with 25" scale) and then my SC245 and tell one heck of a difference. Thats just scale length and less wood (although one is nitro and one lacquesr). I know most is the amp but I CAN tell a pretty big difference with scale and pups myself.

OMG those tones are to die for.

By the way, I had band rehearsal tonight and I played the MMed Epiphone, also had that Marshall VM head cranked to like 3 PM on Master through the 4x12 H&K Greenback ... well it doesn't get much better than this believe me I had that thump in my chest when playing muted chords - I LOVE ELECTRIC GUITAR :O)

the Tremonti and 250 are exactly same guitar except trem, and both sound ALOT 'meatier' btw, combination of pups/scale length. Both excellent but not quite as classic ya know ;) Just buy em all! :)
