It's a custom i think.Love Vipers, a shame about the Agathis on the cheaper ones.
Only the cheapest of the LTD mdoels have agathis.Everything about 400 has Mahogany I think. But yes - ESP Viper. Amazing guitar.

I used an ESP M-200FM that was made of agathis and I did not like it. Even though the guitar was neck thru, the sustain was terrible! The wood had no vibrance at all! I mean, a 150 dollar Yamaha I started on has more sustain than that guitar! But, because of the pups, it sounded good for rhythm, but has terrible lead tone. Shrill, non sustaining, and just weak. I don't like passive EMG's, and combine those pups with the agathis and you get ass for tone.Bottom line- if you don't want sustain, go with agathis.
again, thats from 1 piece of agathis, 1 person experince of 1 guitar... i am sure there are some out there that sound good. .. even plywood surprises you occasionally Its not a wood i am interested in using but if you try an agathis guitar and it sounds good dont let the wood type put you off
it annoys me how the ltd 50 & 100 series are basswoodthen the next one up the 200 is agathis.then 300+ is mahoganyshouldnt the bottom ones be the worse wood rather than the mid out of the lower end ones?
