Pickup wiring problem
« on: March 05, 2008, 12:16:00 AM »
I am trying to wire a Mississippi P90 in the neck and a nailbomb in the bridge and I have a weird problem.  Here is the diagram which I am using to wire it, which is 2 independent volumes and 2 tones.

I am using a screwdriver to tap on the pickups to test before I string up the guitar and here's a description of the problem:

Neck pickup selected
Neck volume all the way down
Tap screwdriver on bridge pickup
sound comes through amp
Turn bridge volume down also while neck still selected, no more sound

This works the opposite way when the bridge is selected.  Everything else seems to be working just fine, but does anyone know what could cause this problem?[/img]

Sounds to me like you have got the the wrong pickup wired to the respective volume controls. Or, your switch is wired backwards. Should be easy enough to sort out tho. :)
