WOW. Bet that thing sounds hideous. Probably better than a minimat though ;)

In fact I think I'll go try one out later on - what've I got to lose?

I think that Grainger are a product name for amps commisioned by Sound Control - much the same as Legacy guitars.

One of the Sound Control sales guys I spoke to claimed that Legacy and Grainger were built in Chinese Epiphone plants. That's probably a load of b@llocks but it's what he claimed  :D

That's interesting ... maybe the Sound Control guy wasn't talking b@llocks after all.

Yeah, that guy on eBay who sells modded VJs also uses Graingers sometimes (and Harley Benton GA-5s).

that's gotta be worth it for £200. The one i tried sounded decent- a budget valve amp. little more background noise than i'd ideally like, but it would make a decent budget valve rock amp.

i thought they were not-bad value at £400. At £200, I'd be considering it, only I have (literally- we have no family room any more because of all my guitar gear     ) no room for another 4x12.

EDIT: can someone please explain to me, though, how sound control are terrible value 95% of the time, but then every so often have crazy-good deals? the peavey windsor was/is £200 there too. I guess that's how it works when you're a big chain...

i'm considering it. better valves would help the noise.

boll0cks... :/

i'm going to leave it, even if that is a great bargain. i liked the sound in that video. i need to be more strong with these things.

see, i'd be real tempted by that, but they only deliver to UK mainland! although, i suppose i should be grateful for that, cause it saves me £200 and means i don't have to find the space for a big smelly 4x12
