Does anyone know how to build a volume pedal?
« on: March 10, 2008, 01:23:56 PM »
Hi all,

I have an empty wah shell that I would like to use as a volume pedal.  Does anyone have any experience of this?  I have a spare pot from the same wah lying around too i'm not too sure what value it is.

Also where could I get the correct pot from?  I notice that the Ernie Ball pedals have 250K pots for passive instruments, can one get hold of the gear thingy that hooks up with the rack of the wah shell?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CheerS!

As far as building your own volume pedal, check out any DIY effects forum/site and there should be a decent schematic for it, including a parts list sometimes.

For EB parts you'll need to go through Strings n Things, EB's distributor over here. Beware though - these guys (EB) charge the earth for the smallest components. I was after a 500k vol/tone, a 5-way and a 3-way switch and this would've set me back nearly £50!
