yeah
that dimetime pickup an obvious dimarzio super distortion copy
i was expecting than to cost about 60-70 us dollars, but they're costing $85
kinda expensive for a factory american made pickup from a brand with no tradition in pickup making (and they are not handwound)
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

well, i guess this thread might be locked/deleted or whatever but anyway... theres nothing in their range i'm in the slightest bit interested in buying - i dont know if its the marketing, technical details or what exactly which puts me off.

might be interested to hear how the 'flathead' sounds as its quite unusual

next pickups on my want list are all BKP :)
slowhand, rebel yell / vh2, painkiller, abraxas / miracle man neck

with bkp: the forum, tims knowledge, swap possibility... it all takes the guess work out of the equation. you have some idea of what you get before you buy. how do i know what the michael schenker lights out humbucker sounds like? not much info to go on.

i won't buy a new pickup which isn't scatterwound again :)

BTW - the dimetime is a neck pickup - i doubt its dimarzio superdistortion based?

Firstly, pickups are 100% tone. When looking for pickups, your first port of call is what tone you want.

With Signature pickups - Your first port of call is WHOSE tone you want. Now, correct me if I'm misguided - But who on earth listens to a Trivium album and decides they want to spend large amounts of money to emulate the Trivium tone?

Surely Dean should be concentrating on people with desirable tone, rather than making pickups for guitarists that are toneles...

But oh wait - There's not just 1 Trivium pickup - THERE ARE TWO!

+1 on that.

And now I've started with them, I can't foresee buying pups that aren't BKP either.

That's not counting the pups that come in any guitars that I buy, of course! (I even find myself adding BKPs to the price when I look at new guitars. Having said that, I just bought a Baja Tele a few weeks back, fully intending to upgrade it almost immediately, I even have the funds ready. But after some minor adjustments, it does not feel like I need to BKP it just yet, I'm having plenty of fun with the stock pups...)

glad i got my time capsule when they were still using dimarzios. the idea of time capsules to me was they stick to the specs of the originals as much as they could.

Well dean knows what their demographic is and sadly there are kids out there that want to sound like trivium
