Are they any good and would this be considered a bargain?

If I had money. That link wouldn't exist.

The more I look at it the more I wish I had some spare cash on me.

Ditto. I feel the Prophecy Explorer GAS creeping up on me.

Checkout my pimped Epi Explorer below.  The stock pickups are total sh*te, I mean just unuseable rubbish - but the guitar itself plays really nice now it's had a fret dress.

I changed the knobs for aesthetic reasons and the pots to CTS as the stock electrics weren't up to much.

I really like the guitar and play it alot - it's the only guitar I own that has a 'fast' neck that makes you want to play metal (being tuned down to C helps as well mind you)

I used to have one of those. The stock pickups are cr@p and after a year or three some of the tuners broke, casing and all. The gold will wear off in no time.

First I had EMG's in it and later Gibson pickups and electronics. It sounded really good and the playability was excellent.

I miss it. I want one again.

I'm not a huge Explorer fan (prefer Firebirds) but I do like the look of this one http://mcguitars.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=108

I think that one's also listed on eBay.

I must say I don't like the "Clapton cut", it ruins the visual balance of the guitar.
