Serious GAS for a Suhr Pro Series!

Does anyone know anything about the S1/S2? Has anyone played them and if so what do you think? I would mainly use it for jazz/fusion and instrumental rock stuff so are they good for that?

Also, what would you say is better for those styles - a 1pc maple neck/fingerboard or a maple neck/rosewood fretboard?

Cant remember what the body wood is though   \

Can't speak from personal experience, but my wife's tutor owns a (several?) Suhr's and swears by them, my wife said it sounded really good too.

Not very specific I know :) but if I had the opportunity to get a Suhr I'd take it.

I've played em at 48St Custom Guitars. Very, very nice guitars. I would give Tom Anderson a slight edge in terms of playability, for my own personal taste, but the Suhr guitars are not slackers by any means.

hmm, what do you mean by Tom Anderson has better playability? Is the neck thinner..? Or do Andersons have a more recessed heel or something?

No, I found the Anderson neck to be wider, which for me is more comfortable.

I've played the S1 and S2. Fantastic guitars - very refined, superb build quality, sound great. I was on a Strat-quest recently and tried many Fenders and Suhrs. The S1 and S2 were better than any of the Fenders I tried, including a couple of Custom Shop models. I preferred the S1 (rosewood board) to the S2 (maple).

However, I ended up going the extra mile and buying a Suhr Standard. Best guitar I've ever owned. Just fantastic.

A couple of points to bear in mind:
Wouldn't you want a humbucker in the neck for jazz?
The necks on most Suhrs are quite thin. Suits me fine, but those liking a chunkier neck might be disappointed.
