Not only have they reworked their website for the first time in 100 years, they also launched a new lower price range it seems

Noooo I had just decided on a Martamp Plexi clone.... and then Bogner brings out an amp I can actually afford. :(

Video of it here:

That didn't really sound any better than any other low-price tube amp out there. €1000 is still too much to pay for an amp I think. An example is that Vai played expensive Bogners before he got the Legacy and his tone is only marginally different now, most of which is probably down to tweaking. Maybe it's just me that doesn't get it.

Well depends what you mean by "other low-price tube amp out there" really I guess. It sounds fantastic to me!

What makes you say 1000 euros is too much for an amp- (do you mean amps in general?)

I don't even know how much he uses the Legacies.

I know he uses Bogners, Cornfords and Marshalls alot...

very interesting amp. Lots of different tones out of it too.

I'd guess it's PCB construction, made in China (in the Line6 factory maybe ?), to achieve that price.  That's not necessarily a bad thing. We'll just have to wait and see what the build quality and reliability is on them.

I don't like the inbuilt digital reverb and delay. it just seems tacky to me - very "Line6". More to go wrong, more to interfere with the tone.  I would much, much rather have a decent effects loop (I wonder if it even has one ?).

generally, quite an exciting new amp though.

Ditto for being less keen on built in fx.

I think it looks and sounds pretty cool though.  I love the head + 2x12 format - very car friendly!

..and now I got a strange hankering after a tele...

Apparently the FX can be disengaged from the amp or something...? Something like true bypass for internal effects... they're separate from the rest of the amp... (I think). Can't even remember where I read that now.

And yeah, that will probably come from Bogners collaboration with Line 6!

Like Hamfist, I don't like the built in effects either.  Lots of delay used in the demo too  :(

It sounds very average to me?  Like a Line 6 Fender model.......

very hard to tell from that video clip - many of the settings sounded the same.  I think it'll be a nice amp in person.

now we see what Reinhold got from the deal with Line6 - access to their modelling technology (hence the inbuilt effects)

1,000 pounds is hardly low priced, and who knows how much it will cost on the Euro and American markets. Too much to pay for that amp in my opinion. Affordable is not the word that comes to mind.
