1,000 pounds is hardly low priced, and who knows how much it will cost on the Euro and American markets. Too much to pay for that amp in my opinion. Affordable is not the word that comes to mind.

1000 euros.. Not pounds... In pounds that's about £770.
My last FM.
ESP Horizon NTII.
ESP Viper Camo.

he said 1,000 EUR, which usually translates into 1,000 US$ in the US market. For a 2-Channel full tube Bogner amp with switchable boost, loop as well as integrated digital FX (no obligation to use them) I think it's pretty fair.

I'd expect the parts and craftmanship superior to average Peavey or Bugera stuff.

On paper it seems almost like a direct ENGL Screamer competitor:

-2 Channels- squeaky clean ---> quite a decent amount of gain
-Both channels with a boost to effectively turn it into a 4 channel:
-Clean---> Clean crunch ---> Crunch ---> Lead/Heavy gain
-Effects loop, reverb + big footswitch for all the channel/boosts.
-£700 ish. Comes in a combo and a head + 2x12.

Didn't seem to have as much gain as a screamer.

typical Bogner, he keeps his gain in ranges where it stays dynamic and responsive, well at least on the ones I played (Shiva, XTC Classic, Metropolis
, Duende)

Judging from the youtube clip, I didn't find it that impressive.

Reinhold Bogner surely also isn't an as good player as for example Steve Dawson, the designer of the VintageModern (and Hendrix Reissue) amp at Marshall

Steve Dawson is, well, 'was' a local bloke - I was really happy to see him get the job at Marshall.  Plus, it means I get more local repair jobs (lmao)

Can't say I was blown away by the Bogner to be honest. I guess a Youtube demo, recorded at a music show on video camera mic is never going to unleash the full potential of an amp. Still, I'm underwhelmed. It didn't sound bad, just not as good as I expected when I saw the Bogner name. Like others here though, I'm not mad about the onboard effects - seems a bit gimmicky.

Also, what in the hell has Reinhold Bogner got on his head in those clips?

Ahh really, did you apply, too?

But Steve is great, he spends a lot of time with VM fans over in the vintagemodern forum. Guess nowadays that's kinda to be expected, but unfortunately isn't usual at all. So that a presumably old school guy like Steve does this deserves some applause  :D
