Hey everybody...
I'm always tempted to say "it's Dr. Nick Riviera here!" after that! OK, I'll behave myself...
I managed to record a track thsi weekend with the Nailbomb on my ESP MII...the tone of the MII seems to suit the Nailbomb better then my Gajic. The tone is nice and thick, screaming harmonics, great overdrive, etc...I'm not altogether happy with the solo so have only included half of the track. I'll re-record the whole solo and post it at a later date...
This one's a pretty bluesy track (hence the name "Nail That Blues"). The rhythm gtrs are all layered up (6 rhythm gtrs in all so I'll give you a breakdown of what you're hearing...
Gtr 1 and 2 panned left and right about 90% using the Nailbomb bridge pickup though my Soldano Supercharger pedal only.
Gtr 3 and 4 panned left and right about 80% using the SD Cool Rails neck pickup (haven't gotten around to putting the Trilogy in my MII - my bad :O) through just my Digitech Bad Monkey pedal (warm blues tone)
Gtr 5 and 6 panned hard left and right, just the chord playing over the chorus…the left channel is the neck PU through the Bad Monkey with the gtr volume rolled off about 25%. The right channel is the same setup except I’m using the bridge PU…
The solo is all Nailbomb with the Soldano and Digitech pedal boosting the Soldano…
Everything is DI'ed into my computer via my POD 2.0...
I've included a short clip of just the rhythm section as well...zero effects on the rhythm gtrs. The recording was pretty dry with just a touch of reverb. The rest of the verb came from the mastering reverb...the solo was a one take (hence the mistakes and repetition...) with the delay turned on and nothing added later...minimal EQ'ing...just a touch here and there to eliminate conflicting freqs...
The Nailbomb rocks!!! :)
Enjoy...
