I love how they sound and hope they do well as they will maybe get youngsters listening to them and help them discover a world of music that they wouldn't otherwise as they had written it off as their dad'd music (or maybe even grandad's music).

Hear hear (much waving of ballot papers)

The shouting angry (even the pistols had a sense of humour about it) young man and pathetic emo kid has got to stop at some point. Bring on the full circle, even go back to the 50's like some others have said and lets start again. I've felt this way since having the displeasure of seeing 'Insane Clown Posse' on the box!

See them live before you dis them, those that did.

Like most music, it's an entirely different experience, and above all, Airbourne are a live act.

And they are superb live. I imagine AC/DC were like that when younger. What's not to like?

For the record, they sound as much like Rose Tattoo as AC/DC.

Copy cat bands, like all those poxy cookie monster pricks coughing up phlegm you mean? They're 10 a penny!

What goes around comes around, so if bands are sounding like stuff from the early seventys, bring it on. I've had enough of angry yank c*nt kids to last me a lifetime.

Well said!!  :D

I #$%!& despise copycat bands. Airbourne are a copycat band.

The first time I heard them I actually thought it was AC/DC.

If there were more bands that sounded like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the million other great bands that roamed the earth when music didn't suck, than maybe we wouldn't be stuck in the pathetic state that we are in with today's music scene.
I welcome the sound of good old fashion rock n' roll!!

Difference between "sounding like" and "ripping off".

Airbourne are the latter.

You're very wrong Mr Ed.  You're just taking a casual listen to both bands and making a very sweeping statement.

In my opinion, AC/DC are very skilled musicians with a subtle "cleverness" to their music.  The riffs are simple yet powerful, guitar parts are very complementary to each other, rhythms and timing are more complicated than you think etc.  Musically, AC/DC are very underrated.  Anyone can bash out a 'DC riff but the tunes are like an iceberg - there's much more going on under the surface.  Their earlier stuff in particular is incredibly well written.

Airbourne are straight ahead, bash 'em out type guys.  Much more punk than blues rock.  They're nowhere near as sophisticated as 'DC, so how are they ripping them off?  Because they're from Oz and play rock and roll with Marshalls?

I agree Dave. I tried recording some ACDC earlier this week but it just sounded cr@p because my rhythm playing has got sloppy, you need to hit it exactly right to make it sound good. Deceptively hard.

I like The Answer, they sound like old rock but dont sound like they're trying to rip anyone off :D

I've just bought The Answer's album, sounds good on the first listen.  I bought Joe Bonamass's Sloe Gin at the same time and that's what I'm listening to in the car at the moment.  He's a very good player.

There's plenty of differences. Airbourne's tone is more distorted and compressed, tempo and rhythm are different and the chords used are different from AC/DC as well.

Edit: And if you don't like it, shut the hell up and go listen to your Nickelback.

Glad to see that The Answer are still going, shot them in 06, at the 02 Wireless Festival Leeds, really good live act and one of the main reasons for me going to do that event.

I got their album, Rise, at the even for free before it's release, which was about the best thing i've gotten out of music photography to date :)

Forvgive me for butting in, but I fail to see where they are "ripping off" AC/DC. I mean, unless they are releasing albums with AC/DC songs on them.
The influence is obvious, but who isn't influenced a great deal by what you listen to? I mean, I'd be hard pressed to write a song right now that didn't reflect some of my own personal influences. If you don't like them because they sound too much like AC/DC, than that's one thing. But to say they are "ripping them off" is quite ridiculous.
Regardless, bring it on. If they are "ripping off" AC/DC, than it might actually be worth listening to for once!
