Very simple question(s) on the strobostomps as I am looking at getting a decent quality tuner. Firstly does anyone own one? If so do they make tuning noticeably more accurate than a Boss tuner (or other equivalent) and are they worth the money? I know they have loads of options for different tuning - I'm not too interested in this feature as I play mostly in standard and occasionally drop D.

I would have thought if you wanted a very accurate tuner like this then you would need a guitar with a very good tuning stability to take advantage of it. Plus a compensated nut like Earvana. 8)

Many luthiers use the Strobe tuner because you can set up most tunings on it and it is very accurate. I have the regular version of this, and it is great for setting up guitars, but for gigs it is very fiddly. You have to stop 4 sets of 'wheels' to have the string in tune. I use a Korg for regular tuning (or a tuning fork at times!).

Just slap some Sperzel locking tuners on there and you won't need a tuner!

I have the mark 1 and it really is great to use. I have it on the pedal board, works great and is easy to use

I don't have one but it is a great bit of kit - I do use an old Conn Stobotune relic from the 1970s - just like Dave Gilmour
The pedal version has a hardwire bypass which is good news and the whole thing seems well thought out - think it has a DI built in too

I replaced Boss tuner with a Peterson Strobostomp about 18 months ago and have never looked back. It is amazingly accurate and has 100% bypass. Expensive but worth it IMHO.

i have the stroboflip and have been really happy with it so far, definately good to have if you havethe spare cash. But I would say its definately overkill unless you are doing your own set-ups and stuff. If you are playing live you dont want to worry about being as in tune as it will get you because you will never finish a set

Ive used these on some Custom boards ive built, i found them very accurate but not as easy as a Boss TU-2 to use.

The new Korg Pitch Black tuners look great!

+1 for the Peterson, the sweetened modes sound great, and having the Buzz Feiten offsets is great if you have a guitar with that installed.

+++ for the Stroboflip model. I attach mine to the guitar stand with the included stand mounting unit and it couldn't be easier. a great piece of gear.

Yeah, I'm tempted by that one too, depending on cost.
