My little music labratory nears completion.
« on: March 24, 2008, 01:07:18 AM »
Just put together all my kit in my room, didnt realise i had so much... sure it's all cheap gear but... i like cheap gear. I dont cry when it breaks ;)

so... 2 strats, 1 acoustic, 1 jazz bass, 1 fretless bass that you can barely see next to my desk...

1 digital midi drum kit and 1 midi keyboard hooked up to the computer, a real drum kit behind the keyboard...

BKP forum on the laptop. Love my room now!

Now if only i could get all this together and make decent music ;)

Anyone else wanna show off they're music rooms? don't think i've seen a thread like this before so i thought i'd start one. I'm sure mines the worst lol!

I quite like the Stratocasters. And I love the positioning of that window for some reason.

Looks like a cool room to me, and it's a lot more space than I have to call my own!

Looks like a great setup Adam!

I'd love to set all my gear up and take a picture of it, except my bedroom is the size of a rabbit hutch and the bed gets in the way! I did seriously think about ditching my bed once and sleeping on the floor, but someone talked me out of it.

What synth drums are they? I've just aquired some Yamaha ones, not tried them yet.

That is a cool room and the Strats enhance it. I too am impressed with the window. You have also placed the floor in the correct spot too because you can both walk on it and place other items on it.

lol.. I can just imagine me sitting on the chair, deep in thought. And what do you know, a window to help with that. lol..

Plus I see you have a growing supply of mugs at your desk. If you're like you, you gather up your mugs then bring them all down at once after a period of time, lol

 I do the same thing when I'm at home. I only take one or two mugs to uni though otherwise they'll all stack up and I dont have a dishwasher so its just more effort for me :P

You have just created flashbacks of PhilKing's collection. NO! shouldn't have done that, now I want lots.
That looks like you could have fun there, can pretty much get a whole band in there?

By my bed(laptop, therefore no desk) I have 3 bowls and two plates, I think the youth is becoming lazy  :D

I so wanted to do that in my old room... just move the matress out of the way when needs be... but then someone mentioned spiders are often on the floor too and... AHHH.

The synth drums are Yamaha DD-50's, really cr@p on their own but through midi into ezdrummer/reason drums i'm having a blast, i just want to get a roland kick drum, can't get a good kick drum action with these foot buttons!

I just saw a strat neck of the same type on warmoth and i'm seriously considering it for my black strat! i could justify it too, i get an extra fret out of it...

I did put a lot of thought into the floor, initially we were going to put a cieling down there, i think we went for the right choice!

As soon as that area gets filled up, then i take them down all at once... i think it was up to eight at one point... it's too handy to have a place in my desk that hides bowls and cups away from me haha :D

It did that to me too, for about 5 seconds, then i realised all my gear is worth about a tenner and his is worth about 100,000! if not more...

Aye, got all the instruments i need except of course vocal recording but my flatmate has that _very_ sorted up stairs with a nice mic!

If only i had musical talent, i sure do like making noise!

I just got a Yamaha DD-55 too. It's a bit grubby but seems to work ok. God knows where it's going to live!
