Active or Passive
« on: March 27, 2008, 11:38:47 PM »
hey

Just wondering are the pickups like Warpig and Painkiller for example active or passive?

Or in general are the humbucklers active or passive?

Thanks

All bare knuckle pickups are passive. Every single one.  :D

thats possibly coolest news ive heard today lol!!

Just a another 2 questions then-how do these stack up to say active livewires?

and can you mix different pick ups for neck and bridge (eg-warpig on bridge and then holydiver or painkiller on neck?)

Depends what you mean. In terms output, the ceramic warpig is higher ouput than any other pickup I've seen, but generally passive pickups roll back alot better, and there's no lack of output on any of the contemporary BKPs

Hell yeah. You can even get them all customised, so rather than having a holy diver bridge and cold sweat neck, you can ring up Tim and ask for allen bolts, or under/overcoiling to change the sound, among a whole host of other things.
