Static problem

Question for you guys that are more tech savvy than me.

I am getting a bit of static from my guitar. When I touch the cable going into the guitar it goes away. Also, when I have my fingers over the strings it goes away but as soon as I take them off it starts again. It's much worse with pedals plugged in.

I have swapped cables and it hasn't helped

I immediately assumed it was a grounding issue so I resoldered all my grounds and it's still there. I also switched out my input jack. Still there.

Any other ideas?

it is a ground issue - the clue is that it stops when you touch the metal parts

if you could take a detailed pic of the cavity it might give us a clue whats happening
