Down last night

Down were epic last night. Did anyone else go?

Manchester airport was ridiculous. They confiscated my stuff cos my belt 'looks like ammunition' and they said I could fire it (no gun). Cost me £12 to get back and the belt only cost £20.

Got about 4 pints of beer in my hair haha.

I was there last night, I agree - they were fantastic (third time I've seen them).

Any idea what those amps are? - my mate wants one BAD.

definately not Randalls - they had some German sounding name on them.

I was by the bar on the right side of the room, Mirimar Disaster t-shirt and big beard (doesn't exactly narrow it down I know, lots of beardy people there last night).

Got to love the Mirimar Disaster.

I only vaguely remember hearing like 1 Down song, so might have to check them out a bit more now.

Dudes trying to look like the God like Kirk Windstein?

I'm gutted I missed them. They're playing Brixton tonight.

Mirimar Disaster supported Wil Haven in Newcastle before xmas and held their own for sure.  I went out and bought their CD on the strength of that gig (and a t-shirt)

This picture shows that they did use Marshalls. In the Moscow show.

Unless that's some amp brand that looks exactly like Marshall but isn't.

Could they be Egnaters?  They have the modules like Randall (in fact they came up with the idea).  Though they are American not German.

Hughes & Kettner perhaps ?
I'll have a good long look on thursday.

[edit]
I gues i will be skipping Down's performance, because i saw this on Roadburn's myspace :
Quote
DOWN - SECURITY RULES:
First obviously, security is going to be present. This is for your protection. Down just wants to get everything right the first time around so everyone can just concentrate on having a good time.

There will be a full pat down search, and prohibited items include the following:
Professional Cameras / Digital Cameras.
Audio and Video recording devices.
Cans, Bottles or any hard containers.
Weapons of any kind
Laser Pointers.
Chains of any kind, including those attached to wallets.
Spikes of any kind i.e. wrist, neck, and jacket.

There’s gonna be a "no re-entry" policy from the time the doors open until the performance ends!

I would have to leave behind my phone, jacket, and my wallet.
And if i have to take a leak during the gig, i'm not allowed back in?
I don't f***ing think so.
