I thought you said there was shredding in there  :wink:

It seems to be a very bright neck sound. If it wasn't for the video I'd have thought it started out on the bridge pickup.

Interesting, well there is "bright" and "bright". Actually this was on the "vintage" setting of the Budda, which is less bright than modern. But "vintage" has more higher mids, "modern" has more fizz, so on a video like this or in band context, "vintage" can appear brighter.

Actually looking at the original, I think it's much brighter than mine ?

Hmm, I'd say there's more fizz in his tone, but at the same time it's smoother while your tone (in the vid at least) has more bite. Which is probably those upper mids you were talking about.

Hmmm yeah I guess if I'd crank the budda master past noon I'd get closer smoothness wise, while retaining a different character in the gain structure. Actually I realised there were quite some notes off in my version ehem ...

Funny you say that as it's actually what I always think ... like damn how can I get that sound, and then thinking about settings and not gettig there.

I think to really know your amp and get the best out of it you gotta play out a lot - playing loud with other musicians, maybe even 1 or 2 other guitarists, that's where you really get which frequencies you need to cut through and sound fat and big.

For me occasions to crank and try are still too rare, because when I meet my band there is too much to work on playing wise and I can't really play around with settings as I'd like ...
