What do you folks think this is worth?

Looking to shift this on Evil Bay and not getting any bids - would appreciate any views of what you folks think that it is worth - must be more than the £1.57 that I offered Twinfan for his Signature Les Paul!!

Thanks

Mike

I don't like bolt-ons. Nor do I think it would be a good idea to go for a Taiwanese made guitar.

Don't like the guitar either.

Somehow my reply seems rather useless.

I'm surprised you haven't had any bids on that Mike, you've started it off very reasonably. I think the buy it now price of £245 to £250 is probably about right for the value. Never know, you might get a flurry of last-minute bids.

Sorry - can't let the above comment go - what's wrong with Taiwanese built guitars?

Hi Mike - I must admit that I don't really like it that much but am surprised that you don't have bids on it just yet.

Whereabouts in Basingstoke are you BTW?

I don't really know. I guess I'm just operated by US / China / Japan or nothing.

Some Taiwanese-made guitars are extremely good quality. My original Pacifica 112, which I bought in 1995, got played every day by me for 4 years, then got sold to a friend and sat in a damp cupboard until 2 years ago, when it was sold to another friend. It's now his main guitar and has given precisely no trouble - no warping, no finish problems, no electric problems, no loose frets (although it's now in need of a bit of a refret) - It's a seriously well-made guitar. Same goes for my current Pacifica 812 - those guys really know how to put a guitar together.

It's not unusual to have no bids with nearly 2 days to go, I wouldn't worry Mike.  Guitar buyers seem quite canny, they don't usually go in with pointless early bids.  Are there many people watching it?

But anyway I see you've got lots of feedback, you must be an eBay veteran?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

+1

Yamaha have been building guitars in Taiwan for a very long time.  I had a Billy Sheehan Attitude Limited bass - not a cheap instrument at all - and it was extremely well made.

But I just found this!  Apparently the Taiwan facility is now being closed and production shifted to China and Indonesia:

Ian Price - just north of the town - near the hospital.

Re Yamaha and Taiwan - I had a RGX Custom which was built there and it was really well made - top quality guitar - just didn't sit right for me to play it,  but you could not fault the quality.

That's quite near me - I'm about a five minute drive from the hospital.

I've got quite a wide range of taste when it comes to music - at the moment I'm pretty much playing some classic rock!
