the guitar shops keep telling me i should be pushing prices much higher but i would rather not have them sitting about in guitar shops

There MUST be a better way of getting such workmanship and design to the attention of those who want to buy such instruments.

Retailers certainly have their place and I absolutely don't mean this as a total criticism of their place and role in the market.

But for the small builder, they either (a) add a large mark-up, making prices uncompetitive, or (b) serve only a small local market, or (c) divorce the maker from the player, or (d) all of the above and more besides!

There are plenty of small independent builders, most suffering with the same problems ... and there are (I believe) many potential buyers who would like to sample "different" brands that they don't see in their local store.

eBay - with all its faults and problems - isn't the answer, it's just a necessary evil.

So ... what is the answer?  This should probably be a separate thread!

Probably a small builder consortium of sorts.  Wouldn't be too difficult or expensive, I'd imagine.

Ooooh, imagine the gas!!!

I love this guitar, I like the slight Iceman details on it.

I've been fancying a 7 string extended scale through-neck iceman/mockingbird hybrid lately.  I'll have to drop MR V a line once I have a some funds  8)

Any finger nails left.  Last month I got a new car for the first time ever, the wait's bloody horribe.  It's gonna feel like a long way from Southampton to Burton - well it is a long way - but it'll feel even longer.  Train or car, at least driving you'll have somthing else to concentrate on.

EDIT: But on the train you could cuddle it all the way home.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Someone is giving me a lift so I guess I can cuddle it in the back seat. Getting it home and plugged into the old Rockerverb 50 will be when the fun starts  8)

the paduak vendetta is still in for re-spray.. not really i priority project but i think nath is doing it at the moment when he gets chance as there is another guitar being sprayed black at the moment... hopefully neither of them will be too much longer
