Whilst I don't recall all of the traits of Walter in the early episodes I do distinctly remember him panicking when he thought the police were coming for him.

That scene was pretty funny. In that scene Bryan Cranston played Walter exactly as he plays Hal in Malcolm in the Middle. As interesting as Walter is I can't 100% say I really like him anymore.

Yeah, I've also got a bit of a dislike for Walter now. I watched the seasons so closely together I can't really think of when the turning point was - maybe around season 3. I won't say why though as it could be seen as a bit of a spoiler.

I've watched a bunch of documentaries lately. I'm terrible at writing 'reviews' so have kept my thoughts to a minimum:

King of Kong Basically about competitive gaming on the classic arcades of the 80s. Some seriously weird characters out there and some very underhand and petty tactics going on. Enjoyable though - even more so if you were/are into those arcades (and I was)

Man on Wire This one is about Phillipe Petit and his attempt to wire walk between the towers of the world trade centre. Pretty compelling viewing - I didn't think I would like it too much but thought I'd give it a go (the documentary, NOT wire walking). I don't think it will ruin the ending if I tell you he doesn't fall. There are some really great moments in here - just a shame that the guy who was supposed to be filming 'the coup' either forgot to or just got caught up in the excitement.

Bones Brigade I'm not into skate boarding but saw this one advertised on Netflix. It's about the 'Bones Brigade' of skaters from the  early 80s that became skateboard icons (Tony Hawks, Tommy Guerrero, Rodney Mullen etc) I really rather enjoyed it. Fred Durst was a bit of a spoiler on it but other than that (and a few grown men crying) I did find it oddly inspirational (although not enough for me to go and buy a skateboard)

Indie Game I really liked this. A documentary that follows a handful of indie games developers whilst they are coding their games. As in King of Kong there are a fair share of geeks (and I mean that in the nicest terms possible) but I did find myself quite liking the majority of the main people in it. I found it interesting how people in similar situations dealt with what they were up against - some I liked, some I didn't.

Yes, me too. I think on reflection it was the bet of all of the documentaries I've watched lately. The New York 'hospitality' he took advantage of shortly after the walk did make me chuckle.

To continue on the documentary theme I watched Exit Through the Gift Shop late last night. Basically a documentary about street art and one mans constant need to film everything (and show lots of man love for Banksy). Pretty decent although by the end I'd become tired of Mr Brainwash. So much so that I really wanted to see him fail.

To be honest I'm still not sure if it was all true or staged. Maybe a mixture of both.

Yeah - he's still irritating me now. Did he really make that much money out of his show?

I did quite like him at the start of the documentary though so there must be something likeable about him although the constant filming would get right on my t!ts.

I thought Exit Through the Gift Shop was one of the best documentaries I've ever see but I did view it as an mockumentary, like a banksy version of Orson Well’s F for Fake.

Cloud Atlas - amazing, really really enjoyed this one! Hard to describe it without giving things away and I'm not really sure if I understand it completely, but definitely recommended.

Stitches - Comedy horror about a kids' party clown who comes back from the dead.  I thought it might be funny since it stars Ross Noble.  It isn't.

King of King is stellar! Brilliant documentary that one, I have watched it twice. :)

I saw Django Unchained the other day, it was really good actually. Can recommend it.

Battleship

If you'd told me someone had made a film featuring both Rihanna and Tadanobu Asano in leading roles I never would've believed you.  But as it turned out, I quite enjoyed it.  As films based on Hasbro games go, it's better than Transformers, at any rate.

I read an interview with Bryan Cranston where he talked about this. He said that it was Vince Gilligan's (creator of the show) idea that this would happen and they agreed it was a great idea to have the main character begin as a likeable person and turn into a monster. They had a fight with the network because no-one had done this before. Nobody's meant to LIKE Walter any more.

Watched Evil Dead at the weekend!

i remember the original, vaguely.  This one was OK, I guess, slicker, incredible vomit inducing effects.  Didn't really have the shocks for me though, all gore and no real horror.

I'm a big fan of the original Evil Dead trilogy, bought them all multiple times on DVD and Blu-ray (yet another thing I hoard....)

I don't know if I want to see the remake or not, it's had very mixed reviews. 

I really wish Hollywood would stop churning out remakes and "reboots", I find it depressing that they don't have more imagination, but I generally end up watching them anyway - they're not necessarily bad just because they're remakes.
