Have you got a band yet Wez?

On the film front I am watching all of the Harry Potters before taking a trip to the cinema to see HBP.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Casshern is mental! Beautiful but mental, I only had a rough idea of the plot but it is a stunning film.

watched the day of the jackal, was on the other night on RTE. Excellent (read the book too, though not for ages).
The original or the re-make?

original

Come on, nobody thinks the remake is excellent.

 :P

hehe. the remake was alright, not a patch on the original, though. and gere's dodgy northern irish accent was horrendous.

It does look wonderful, but oh god, it was so boring!

harry potter and the half-blood prince.

excellent adaptation, brilliant direction and, overall, my favourite in the HP series...
does anyone agree?

Agreed, my brother and I actually found a lot of it to be very funny! I especially thought the girl playing Lavender Brown was (although OTT) very funny.

Although naturally they are going to miss out things from the book, i still enjoyed it.

This is a pretty cool short film:

Manifest Destiny

Think I'd probably prefer it if they didnt show the whole of the thing they're operating though, leave a sense of mystery/make it creepier..

I love how it looks, apparently shot on a Canon HV30 if anyone cares about that sort of thing.

I thought Moon was fantastic, but then again I really enjoy Sam Rockwell.

I'm off to see G.I Joe today, not got high expectations, as long as it's even a little bit entertaining I'll be happy. I loves my Unlimited cinema card.

I've become rather picky when it comes to movies. I like Robert Aldrich a LOT!

In fact, so much so that I nowadays have a hard time watching anything made by anybody else. Sure, he's made some cr@p as well, but compared to his better works (Flight of the Phoenix, The Grissom Gang, Emperor of the North (Pole), Twilight's Last Gleaming, The Longest Yard...) everything else just seems childish, pointless, lifeless and lacking of style, apart from the odd film or so. I like some films by John Sturges, as well.

Everything else?  That's an awful lot of films!
