If anyone would be so kind, could they offer a complete explanation of pickup terminology etc. in a way a retard could understand. It just seems so confusing to me. If you cant be bothered to post then dont, i dont want to annoy anyone.

My attitude is that we all had to start once and most of us have looked to experienced players for advice and the obvious thing to do is to ask. I can't ever remember anyone telling me to get lost  when I was a lad. All I'd say is scan the existing posts to see if your query has been covered- difficult I know as there are so many.

Alex, there's no such thing as novice in my book.You never stop learning, especially with guitar.One of the main functions of the forum is to share knowledge and help each other.Since starting the forum up some months ago I've been really pleased with the level of help and commitment that every one who has joined has put into this forum.There's no egos on this board, just people in love with the guitar! 8)
