Work in progress, but it's all connected up now. Need to paint the front and get some grille cloth on it.

Muahahahaha!

PS we're in the middle of redecorating, so no comments about the hideous paint or carpet! :)

So, if I get this rightly, that's a new 2x15, 2x10 (2x8 ?) cab to go with the 4x12 ?
OK, spill the beans. Tell us the story !!

It looks like those awful 'hi fi' speakers from the 70s. PDT_008

The smaller drivers should be quite nice for the higher freqs on the guitar, however, since they move much faster than a 12" driver.

I quite like the paint, too. :)

Reminds me of the hellhole hallway outside of the recording studio I used last:

They didn't say anything about 'redecorating', however. PDT_008

I say: keep the wall that way; it'll add texture! :)

hope the studio was better decorated or there must have been some trouble with the reverb/room noise?!

LOL, yeah that was just the hallway. The actual studio is pure AAA.

Sorry for the hijack ... back on topic!

why is it that all the places that host recording studios look like that?   it is an all too familiar sight!

@ Roo: is that loaded with those 300w megafvcker drivers?

Hi all, sorry for the delay, my internet connection at home died because there's a problem at the local exchange (so no phones at all, thanks BT!).

That's a 2 x 15 (Celestion G12B-100s I think), 2 x 8 (wharfedale 2065T if I remember correctly, I have a picture of that but can't access my picasaweb albums at work! Check for Roobubba on picasaweb and you'll find pictures of the inside). The 8@ wharfedales have 100W handling, as do the Celestion 15" speakers. Each cab is 8 ohms, so I'm using the 4 ohm tap.

The new cab isn't as loud as the 4 x 12 (which as I'm sure you all remember has 2 x EVM 12L Black labels and 2 x Celestion G12K-100s), due to the slightly lower response of the speakers in it. However, it gives great definition and punch on the bottom end and complements it really, really well. I'm actually surprised how well it works - it makeh my chest hurt (even at low volumes muaahah)! :)

Now I need a bigger car to get that lot to band practice!!!

The ISP Demimator prorackG is phenomenally good. Even at master volumes of about 8 (out of 10), with preamp gain of 8 or 9 out of 10, the decimator helps me keep on top of the squealing COMPLETELY. I couldn't be happier with it :)

I also use ClearTone cables from Award Session (they're all custom made to order, so they're the right length), which are just superb. I'm actually thinking I might do a head to head set of clips with those and my planet waves cables to show the difference - just brilliant! And cheap too :)

Hopefully phone will be sorted at home soon and I can get back online with those internal pics.

I'd like to hear that. From what you have said, I assume that you hear a difference ?

At last, it's time to get that Telecaster you've been promising yourself!

I have a load of Award Session Clear Tone cables myself and for the money, I don't think you can buy anything better. I noticed a difference myself the minute I 1st plugged into a decent amp with 1 :)
