Wanted to watch this tomorrow but we (me+gf) are gonna watch Made of Honour instead apparently. Oh well at least I actually quite like romcoms  . I still want to watch it some other time though.

Going to see it tonight, I've heard the after credits bit is Samuel L. as Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. A possible direction for spin off movie/sequal.

Well I can't talk about the movie cause I'll just spoil it but you'll definately be hinted that there's a sequel. WHICH WILL BE AWESOME.

It's Laurence Fishburne (the guy who played morpheus in Matrix) who plays that guy.

Think I'm going to watch this soon, have only heard good things about it. Someone on HC said something along the lines of "the thing at the end was a nice little treat for the comic fans" or words to that effect, so I guess you need to be into the comics to get it?

It's Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (although Fury was white in the comics, but never mind that).

SPOILER WARNING!

He turns up in Stark's house (which happens a lot in the film - is the front door always open?) and says something like "Do you think you're the only superhero in the world, Mr Stark?  Let me tell you about the Avenger initiative."

So maybe there's an Avengers movie in the offing?  I know they've been planning a Nick Fury movie for years.

Marvel comics films are not all that good at keeping people of the same race or nationality.

For example in Daredevil (cr@p film) the Kingpin is played by the huge black guy from The Green Mile and Dr. Octopus in Spiderman 2 is played by a British actor using an American accent when the character was originally a German immigrant I believe (May as well have gotten Elton John to do it. At least he looks the same as the comic books).
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Nick Fury being black is perfectly correct Continuity.

Nick Fury has been black ever since his first appearance in the Ultimate universe.

I think the next Marvel(lous) movie is going to be more Avengers than Iron Man. Not that that's bad, it'll be open to some awesome movie performance but Iron Man better have some improvement gadgetry and maybe a new suit or something!

Too modern for me!  I go back to the old Sgt Fury and Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. comics.

I just had to look it up in Wikipedia, and I see they actually modelled the character on Samuel L. Jackson!  Good casting then!

Daredevil (cr@p film)

Out of interest, have you seen the director's cut?  I was bored stupid when I saw the theatrical version in the cinema, but I loved the director's cut, the few small changes made a huge difference.  Or maybe I was just in a generous mood.

I haven't seen the director's cut, no.

Maybe it was one of those films that was cut to the point of removing the good bits and just leaving the basic plot behind (or not, as in The Avengers movie. That's The Avengers as in the 1960s TV serial, not the comics).
