Setting up an Indie Lable
« on: May 04, 2008, 12:31:46 PM »
so heres the deal.

after months of piss balling around with my band and so called music professionals iv had enough and decided to do it the DIY way. Iv got a couple of artists interested and im looking into fully registering my label, as Home Nosie Records. Anyone tried this before? im fully serious and need all the help i can get really, and quite a few people are fully supportive so with the right direction this might possibly work for me and the bands.

any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Tah.

give these guys a shout... http://www.myspace.com/sweetrecords

I remember when they first started out and I did some FOH/PA work for them, good bunch of guys and 100% music lovers.

I recommend getting an ebay store so that you at least get some worldwide distribution as opposed to having to make expensive contacts at first.

Once that's set up then you would do well to get some outside distribution.

Make sure you have all the paperwork that they want (especially certification that the artists receive their royalties as many distributors won't touch you without it).
I too use chicken as a measurement.
